CUCOSTA recognizes SEAPAL Water Quality Certification
The region's institution of higher education celebrated this achievement, as well as the efforts made to maintain the quality of service
As part of the renewal of the Water Quality Certification for the 35th consecutive year, Héctor Javier Rendón Contreras, representative of the Centro Universitario de la Costa, conveyed congratulations to SEAPAL Vallarta on behalf of the university’s president, Dr. María Esther Avelar Álvarez, recognizing this achievement as a reflection of the quality of the services the agency provides to the public.
During his remarks, he noted that one of the main indicators of human development is access to drinking water, emphasizing that Puerto Vallarta has nearly 100% coverage of this service for its residents.
He added that this progress takes on greater significance given the city’s sustained growth and the challenges the agency faces regarding the availability of the resource, acknowledging the effort to maintain the quality and continuity of the service.
For his part, Juan Andrés Aguirre Palacios, leader of SUTSEAPAL, congratulated the administration and the unionized and trusted workers who made this achievement possible, highlighting the collaborative work carried out within the agency.
He noted that continued investment is also required to maintain and achieve this certification again in the coming years and emphasized that the process of ensuring water quality involves not only its extraction but also its treatment and certification under strict standards.
