Man Charged with Child Abuse in Puerto Vallarta
As a precautionary measure, the judge ordered pretrial detention for one year for the events that occurred in Ixtapa
A man was formally charged with aggravated child sexual abuse against a minor, as a result of the work carried out by the Deputy Prosecutor's Office for Regional Investigation.
The alleged crimes against Adelaido “N” occurred in the Ixtapa district of Puerto Vallarta, in several incidents between August and September 2017, February 2018, and September and October 2019.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly took advantage of his position as the victim's uncle by marriage to commit the abuse. After becoming aware of the situation, the girl's mother filed a report with the Public Prosecutor's Office.
During the hearing, the court reviewed the evidence presented by the prosecution and determined that there was sufficient grounds to prosecute the accused for the crime of aggravated child sexual abuse.

As a precautionary measure requested by the prosecution, the judge ordered pretrial detention for one year and set a five-month deadline for the completion of the supplementary investigation.
With this ruling, the State Prosecutor's Office reaffirms its commitment to ensuring justice in cases where the well-being and safety of children and adolescents are violated.
