Jalisco strengthens strategic alliance with Japan to attract investment, talent and new markets

Economic promotion, investment attraction and Jalisco's international positioning were the main topics of the meeting

As part of the international engagement strategy to strengthen the state's economic growth, Jalisco General Coordinator for Strategic Growth and Economic Development held a meeting with the Consul General of Japan, Takero Aoyama.

During the meeting, they reviewed the progress made during the Consul General's recent working visit to Japan and defined new areas of cooperation.

The meeting highlighted the results achieved in economic promotion, investment attraction, and Jalisco's international positioning, as well as their shared interest in further strengthening the bilateral relationship.

One of the main topics discussed was the semiconductor industry, a strategic sector for the state's economic future, and they continued discussions with Japanese authorities.

They also reviewed the scope of Jalisco's participation in FOODEX Japan, with the goal of expanding exports and opening new markets for local companies.

In the area of ​​tourism, both parties agreed on the importance of continuing to promote Jalisco as a global destination, taking advantage of the international exposure that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will provide.

Another key focus was the development of specialized talent through partnerships with universities, research centers, and strategic stakeholders to prepare human capital for highly specialized industries.

With this meeting, Jalisco reaffirms its international vision and strengthens its relationship with Japan as a strategic partner for attracting investment, generating employment, and opening new opportunities for the state's development.
