PV strengthens support for women victims of violence

The City Council approved the municipality's participation in the ALE Strategy to strengthen police response and access to justice

In an effort to improve support and follow-up for women victims of gender-based violence, the City Council approved Puerto Vallarta's participation in the state program "ALE Strategy," corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year.

The proposal authorizes the signing of a coordination agreement with the Government of the State of Jalisco, through the Ministry of Substantive Equality between Women and Men, which will allow the municipality to access resources of up to 1.2 million pesos to strengthen police response and access to justice.

According to the initiative, the program is aimed at girls, adolescents, and women who are victims of violence, whether or not they have protection orders or measures. The goal is to strengthen the response capacity of municipal personnel to assist, support, and protect women at risk.
