Representatives from the Canadian Embassy learn about Security and Tourist Services Protocols implemented by the Municipality

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind, Puerto Vallarta authorities held a working meeting with representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Mexico to discuss security, civil protection, and services for foreign visitors.

During the meeting, the mayor emphasized that there will be ongoing communication with international authorities in anticipation of a potential increase in visitors. “We are very interested in ensuring this connection remains fully active,” the mayor stated, reiterating the local government's commitment to addressing any needs of Canadian tourists and residents.

The meeting included Laura Aceves and Roberto Guerrero, officers from the Security Program, as well as Lama Lahoud, senior officer of the Consular Program at the Embassy of Canada. They attended to learn about the emergency response protocols, weather-related events, and preventative operations currently being implemented by the municipality.

With this collaboration, Puerto Vallarta strengthens its international coordination and reaffirms its readiness to receive visitors from around the world during major events, solidifying its position as a safe destination ready for the 2026 World Cup.
