Measles cases decrease in Jalisco; Authorities urge continued prevention and vaccination measures

Vaccines are available at more than 600 locations throughout the state, along with other doses to protect public health

As a result of coordinated efforts between health authorities, vaccination teams, and responsible citizen participation, Jalisco has seen a sustained decrease in measles cases in recent weeks.

According to the Jalisco Ministry of Health's (SSJ) state epidemiological monitoring, the weekly incidence of cases has shown a downward trend thanks to strengthened vaccination campaigns, timely detection, and adherence to preventive protocols in health centers, schools, and public spaces.

In the state, more than 600 fixed and mobile vaccination sites are currently available, where measles vaccines are administered, along with other doses included in the National Vaccination Card, as part of the National Vaccination Campaign.

The Jalisco Ministry of Health (SSJ) urges the public not to let their guard down and to continue preventive measures to consolidate this positive trend and avoid new outbreaks.

Among the main recommendations issued are:
• Verify and complete the vaccination schedule, especially for children.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience fever, skin rashes, cough, runny nose, or conjunctivitis.
• Avoid self-medication.
• Maintain basic hygiene and prevention measures in public and school spaces.

For more information on measles vaccination and prevention, the public can visit their nearest health center or consult the official channels of the Jalisco Ministry of Health and/or call the Jalisco Health Hotline at 33-3823-3220, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
