SEAPAL completes preventive measures at the Radial Well

Works will secure water supply in more than 140 neighborhoods in the northern part of the city

SEAPAL Vallarta carried out preventive work around the Radial Well to encourage the production of drinking water and protect the strategic infrastructure for supplying the city. These actions are part of the agency's proactive planning to guarantee continuity of service during the dry season. As part of these works, semi-groyne stone was installed in the Mascota River to protect the 30-inch diameter steel pumping line, which carries raw water from this source, as well as from the recently constructed vertical galleries. These are preventative works being carried out in preparation for the rainy season, given that a potential rupture of this pipeline, which crosses the riverbed, could disrupt the drinking water supply to more than 140 neighborhoods in the northern part of Puerto Vallarta, as occurred recently. Furthermore, this intervention acts as a small water retention basin, facilitating the flow of water into the Radial Well and helping to maintain drinking water production during the dry season, a period when availability decreases in rivers, aquifers, and other water sources.
