SEAPAL Protects Main Drinking Water Line and Advances to Reconstruction Phase of the North-Central Collector
Cleaning, site preparation, and construction of the new structure will continue throughout the day
SEAPAL Vallarta reports that one of the most important priorities in the repair work following the collapse of the North-Central Collector on Avenida México was achieved early this morning: the protection of the 24-inch (FRP) drinking water line, a strategic infrastructure that was exposed and at risk due to the excavation work.
Thanks to this action, the necessary conditions are now in place to begin restoring drinking water service to the neighborhoods affected by the preventative shutdown.
Additionally, the installation of the sheet piling system in the intervention area has been completed. This will stabilize the work area, reduce the risk of landslides, protect the collector that remains operational, and provide greater safety for the personnel involved in the operations.

With these actions completed, the work moves to a new stage: the construction of a new collector box, a technical solution that will allow the replacement of the collapsed section, restore the hydraulic continuity of the sanitation system, and reduce the risk of future failures at this point.
Throughout the day, cleaning, site preparation, and construction of the new structure will continue, prioritizing the safety of personnel, the protection of the hydraulic infrastructure, and the continuity of services.
SEAPAL thanks the public for their understanding and patience during this highly complex intervention and reiterates its commitment to working continuously until the operational conditions of the backbone of Puerto Vallarta's sanitation system are fully restored, prioritizing safety, health, and environmental protection.
