Pipe Collapse Triggers Sinkhole on Prisciliano Sánchez Avenue
One lane remains closed at the intersection with México Avenue as SEAPAL crews repair the pipe
A sinkhole appeared on Prisciliano Sánchez Avenue yesterday due to the collapse of a pipe belonging to the North Central Collector. One lane remains closed to traffic near the El Capricho subdivision, as well as on Mexico Avenue.
This incident caused a sewage overflow in Versalles, and sanitation crews will be cleaning the affected area.
The sinkhole was caused by the collapse of the sanitary sewer line in a section that has not yet been rehabilitated and was still operating with concrete pipe.
SEALPAL reported that repairs will be carried out within a maximum of 72 hours. In the meantime, the pumping system is being reinforced to control the spills caused by this situation.
