SEAPAL recognizes Las Palmas Hotel for responsible fat management
Participation of committed business owners strengthens the organization's work and contributes to the preservation of PV
As part of its water conservation efforts and efforts to strengthen the sanitation system, SEAPAL Vallarta awarded a certificate to Hotel Las Palmas for the proper use of its plumbing and sanitation facilities and responsible grease management, following verification visits conducted by the agency to establishments that prepare and sell food.
SEAPAL Vallarta Director emphasized that this hotel serves as an example of the correct use of sewer services and stressed that practices such as the proper maintenance of internal systems directly contribute to the efficient operation of the city's sanitation network.
He added that Hotel Las Palmas demonstrates the importance of having grease traps and maintaining them regularly, preventing grease from entering the drainage system. "They are setting an example of how to care for wastewater lines, how to protect the beaches, and how to preserve the ecosystem in this area of the city," he noted.
He stated that the participation of committed business owners strengthens the organization's work and contributes to the preservation of Puerto Vallarta. He added that they will continue to recognize hotels, restaurants, and businesses that comply with current regulations.
For his part, hotel owner Gabriel Igartúa expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized that the responsibility for water conservation and sanitation does not rest solely with the authorities, but must be shared by all sectors of society to preserve a tourist destination like Puerto Vallarta.
Finally, he stressed that prevention is key to avoiding bigger problems, considering that "preventive programs are more important than corrective ones." In this regard, he called for everyone to join these efforts and understand that caring for water and the environment is a collective task: "Let's share responsibility and understand that we are all Puerto Vallarta."
