PV prepares for International AIDS Vigil
The purpose is to honor their memory and combat the stigma and discrimination surrounding this condition
The Municipal Government, through COMUSIDA (Municipal AIDS Commission), in coordination with various organizations, proposed holding the vigil on May 17, as it is traditionally commemorated on the third Sunday of May.
However, to avoid coinciding with other activities, it was agreed to hold the event on May 15.
The day's events include a walk along the Malecón (boardwalk), beginning in the McDonald's area at 6:30 p.m., where participants will carry candles and banners with awareness messages, before concluding at City Hall.
The commemoration will continue in the exterior corridors of City Hall, where the "Wall of Memory" exhibit and information booths will be set up. In addition, there will be participation from authorities, local artists, as well as messages from groups and activists, in a space dedicated to remembrance, reflection and solidarity.
