"Flavors of the World" competition held at Emiliano Zapata Market
The internationally renowned festival celebrated gastronomy and the talent of dancers with a culinary competition
Dancers traded the stage for the kitchen during the "Flavors of the World" competition, held at the Emiliano Zapata Municipal Market. This gastronomic event was held for the first time in the 20-year history of the Vallarta Azteca International Folklore Festival (FESTVA), with the support of the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Markets Department.
Members of folkloric ballet groups from Bulgaria, Latvia, Colombia, Chihuahua, and Jalisco participated in this culinary gathering, preparing dishes from their regions using ingredients purchased directly from the market.
The judging was conducted by Puerto Vallarta chefs. Third place went to Jalisco, second to Latvia, and first place to Chihuahua, thanks to the "Asado de Puerco" (Pork Roast) dish prepared by Julio César Mendiola Hernández and Josué Efraín Violante Cano.
