Swells Expected on PV Beaches
High waves, rip currents, and significant variations in sea levels are expected due to the presence of low-level jet streams
The Civil Protection and Fire Department reported that, due to the presence of low-level jet streams, swells are expected on Puerto Vallarta beaches in the coming days.
This phenomenon can generate high waves, rip currents, and significant variations in sea level. Therefore, residents and visitors are advised to exercise extreme caution when entering the ocean.
The department emphasized the importance of following lifeguard instructions at all times and respecting the flag signals posted on the beaches.
It also recommends that businesses, restaurants, hotels, and service providers located in the coastal area secure furniture, equipment, and objects that could be swept away by the waves, and remain attentive to warnings issued by the authorities.
Finally, residents of areas near the beach are urged to avoid being in areas where waves break, secure objects in patios or terraces exposed to the sea, and stay informed about the evolution of sea conditions.
