PV continues Peace Neighborhoods Program in 2026

With this state program, the municipality will strengthen initiatives benefiting women, which in 2025 benefited more than 5,000 people

Puerto Vallarta continues to strengthen public policies aimed at guaranteeing women a life free from violence, after the City Council approved the initiative presented by the municipal government to participate again in the state program “Peace Neighborhoods.”

The proposal authorizes the signing of a coordination agreement with the Government of the State of Jalisco, through the Ministry of Substantive Equality between Women and Men, which will allow the municipality to access resources of up to 1,032,000 pesos.

The program includes the sub-components “Educating for Equality,” “Centers for Reflection and Support for Men Towards Equality,” and “We Move Safely,” focused on violence prevention, addressing masculinities, and ensuring the safety of women in public spaces and transportation systems.

In 2025, through the Municipal Institute for Women, Puerto Vallarta was the only municipality in Jalisco that fully implemented the three sub-components of the program, benefiting more than 5,000 people and consolidating itself as a state benchmark in building safer, more equal and violence-free environments for women.'
