Garbage collection in PV will return to normal within 48 hours
Service will be fully operational within a maximum of two days, following the completion of the hiring process for new personnel and the acquisition of vehicles
Just over a month ago, the municipality assumed direct responsibility for garbage collection. During the transition period, a thorough review of the workforce was conducted, and the necessary budget adjustments were made, specifically to line item 1000, related to payroll, to ensure the service is financially viable and efficient in the long term.
Therefore, the Director of Efficient Services and the Deputy Director of Puerto Limpio (Clean Port) are committed to ensuring that the routes operate normally starting this coming Thursday, with the addition of 54 new personnel.
It was also reported that, in addition to the garbage trucks, the City Council acquired four compactor trucks and four pickup trucks using funds from the ZOFEMAT (Federal Maritime Zone) fund, which will be dedicated exclusively to city cleaning operations.
They also made a strong appeal to residents to put out their trash at the times designated for their neighborhood. This will prevent garbage from accumulating in the streets.
