The Vallarta Institute of Culture invites to an Intensive Traditional Papier-Mâché Workshop in Cuale, which will be held from June 1st to 5th on the Cuale River.
In the workshop, led by Master Artisan Marcos Miguel, participants will learn the process of creating alebrijes and catrinas in a space dedicated to preserving traditional Mexican craft techniques.
During five hands-on sessions, participants will explore the modeling, structuring, papering, and decoration of these iconic figures using recycled materials and traditional papier-mâché techniques.

Throughout the workshop, participants will learn the design and construction of structures, traditional modeling and papering, surface repair and finishing, as well as painting and fine decoration, in preparation for the final group exhibition.
The $600 pesos fee includes all materials in the workshop, which aims to be a space for creating, learning, and connecting with Mexican folk art.
