Health Clinics in PV consolidate historic medical care

The municipal program surpasses 40,000 medical consultations and strengthens free services with clinical studies, mammograms, and eyeglasses for thousands of Vallarta residents

Thousands of Vallarta residents continue to benefit from the health program promoted by the municipal government, a strategy that has brought free medical care and specialized services to neighborhoods and districts where access to this type of support was previously difficult.

The Director of Health Promotion reported that during the current administration, the Dr. Tucán Clinics have provided 40,036 general medicine consultations, thanks to the operation of the units in Ixtapa and Coapinole, as well as the Mobile Medical Unit that travels to different communities throughout the municipality.

Regarding oral health and prevention, the official detailed that 9,188 dental consultations and 37,807 laboratory tests have been performed to detect conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides, strengthening timely patient care. He also highlighted that 494 mammograms have already been conducted through free mammogram campaigns for the early detection of breast cancer.

The Director added that one of the programs with the greatest social impact has been the visual health program, through which 5,497 free pairs of eyeglasses have been distributed. Furthermore, the "So You See Well" program has provided eye exams and support to high schools and middle schools, benefiting hundreds of students.

Currently, the municipal health system operates with two permanent clinics and a mobile unit equipped with general medicine, dentistry, nutrition, pharmacy, and optometry services. A new clinic will soon be opened in the Las Mojoneras district to expand free healthcare coverage in Puerto Vallarta.
