Andrea 3.21 Foundation Launches “Writing a Place for Everyone” Campaign

This initiative aims to promote social inclusion and encourage environmental stewardship

Participate in the “Writing a Place for Everyone” campaign hold by Andrea 3.21 Foundation and UNIVA. This initiative, developed in collaboration with KUIL, a company that creates sustainable pencils, aims to promote social inclusion and encourage environmental stewardship.

  • The campaign, which will run from May 13th to 21st, involves students from various schools distributing 25 eco-friendly pencils (valued at 25 pesos each) among their acquaintances. These pencils have the unique feature that, at the end of their useful life, they can be planted and germinated into chia seeds, tomatoes, chili peppers, cilantro, and lentils. This initiative generates an environmental, educational, and inclusive impact, as the funds raised benefit schools and individuals with Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and neuromotor disorders who attend the 3.21 Center.

“Every action, every person involved, represents an opportunity to open spaces, break down barriers, and build a more conscious, empathetic, and humane society,” stated Karen Malacara, President of Fundación 3.21, as she thanked UNIVA, Conalep II, Decroly, Cecytej, CBTis 68, and Colegio Joaquín Fernández de Lizardi for being the first schools to join this campaign and for inviting more educational institutions, businesses, and the general public to participate.

For his part, Fernando Castro, Treasurer of Fundación Andrea 3.21, noted that so far, 2,200 students have participated, representing more than 55,000 pencils valued at $25 pesos each, which projects a significant fundraising reach. “But beyond the numbers, we're talking about thousands of people getting involved. This is a campaign where everyone wins,” he emphasized.

It should be noted that, to motivate participants and those who decide to join, a keynote address will be given by Daniel Piceno, founder of KUIL and a participant on Shark Tank Mexico, to inspire them. The talk will take place on May 14 at the UNIVA facilities at 7:00 pm, and attendees must confirm their participation by calling 5550728990.

Also present at the press conference were Mariel Plata, spokesperson for the Andrea 3.21 Foundation; Laura Ofelia Robles Sahagún, Director of UNIVA, who mentioned that it is currently important to have social responsibility and to cultivate empathetic and engaged individuals; and Sara Cardona, Director of the Andrea 3.21 Foundation, who was responsible for presenting the "Writing a Place for Everyone" campaign.
