Two dogs were rescued from abandonment in the Independencia neighborhood

The dogs are now under the care of the Animal Welfare Department

Following an anonymous report about a possible case of abandonment at a property in the Independencia neighborhood, Animal Welfare personnel went to inspect the location.

Upon arrival, the inspectors confirmed that the property was under the control of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), so the necessary authorization to carry out the rescue was immediately obtained.

Thanks to the support of the Federal Public Prosecutor and the Federal Judge, who authorized the rescue of only small animals, based in Puente Grande, Jalisco, personnel from the Attorney General's Office (FGR), Animal Welfare, and the Green Patrol were allowed access to the property on April 24. They successfully rescued two Italian Mastiff dogs—a female and a male—who are now under the care of the department and receiving attention.

Citizens are invited to report any case of abuse or neglect to the following telephone number: 322 102 7339.
