Over 200 Construction Managers Study Urban Code in PV

The training is part of a series of visits to municipalities that will strengthen compliance with urban regulations in Jalisco

With the goal of reinforcing the correct application of urban regulations and contributing to better land-use planning, approximately 250 construction managers, municipal supervisors, and specialists participated in the first "Introduction to the Urban Code" course in Puerto Vallarta.

The training was aimed at professionals seeking accreditation for their 2027 annual practice. Participants analyzed the main scope and provisions of the Jalisco State Urban Code, as well as its application in municipal development and planning processes.

During the session, topics related to the development and updating of municipal planning instruments, urban development actions, and mechanisms for protecting built cultural heritage were addressed.

The Director of Technical Studies for the Jalisco State Urban Development Attorney's Office (Prodeur) led the presentation and explained the scope of current legislation, as well as the agency's responsibilities in providing advice and technical support.

"The latest update to the Jalisco State Urban Code is available in the State Congress's virtual library, which also specifies Prodeur's responsibilities," he said.

Members of the Puerto Vallarta College of Architects of the State of Jalisco, as well as specialists interested in urban development and land-use planning, also attended the course. They participated by asking questions and sharing experiences on the application of the regulations.

This activity is part of Prodeur's ongoing efforts in various regions of the state to promote awareness of the urban legal framework and strengthen its implementation among municipal authorities, professionals, and sectors involved in city development.

The agency provides advice to municipal governments, professional associations, academic institutions and citizens on issues related to the regularization of urban properties, technical studies, built cultural heritage and legal matters related to urban development.
