Winners of the 2026 Puerto Vallarta Award Approved
The award will be presented on May 31st during the celebration of Puerto Vallarta's anniversary as a municipality and city
The City Council approved the individuals and organizations that will be recognized with the “2026 Puerto Vallarta Award,” a prize established by the municipal government to distinguish those who have contributed to the development of the municipality.
The awards will be presented on May 31st, as part of the celebration of Puerto Vallarta's 108th anniversary as a municipality and 58th anniversary of its elevation to city status.
After reviewing the proposals received during the call for nominations, the Vallarta Award Advisory Council selected the recipients of this year's award.
Within the “Teresa Barba Palomera” category, focused on cultural promotion, Isela Mariscal Hernández was selected, while Ana María Martínez Delgado will receive the “Francisca Rodríguez Rodríguez” award, a distinction given to individuals distinguished for their contributions to public education.
In the environmental field, the association Sustainable Development, Culture and Wildlife Conservation Nakawe A.C. will be recognized with the “Guadalupe Sánchez Torres” award for its work in the protection and conservation of the natural environment; likewise, María Matilde Covarrubias Sánchez will receive the “Manuel Lepe Macedo” award for her career and contributions in the arts.

Finally, María del Carmen Anaya Corona will be honored with the “Ignacio Luis Vallarta Ogazón” award, considered one of the highest recognitions of the municipality for highlighting exemplary careers and actions that benefit Puerto Vallarta and its inhabitants.
The solemn ceremony will take place at the Aquiles Serdán Open Air Theater, an emblematic venue where the municipal government will celebrate those who, through their work, have left their mark on the public and social life of the city.
