PV Downhill & Freestyle 2026 concludes successfully

The competition combined sport, tourism, and economic development for the benefit of the destination

With more than 15,000 attendees and 90% hotel occupancy, the Puerto Vallarta Downhill & Freestyle 2026 solidified its position as the most important urban downhill event in Mexico. For two days, the adrenaline-filled competition brought together national and international athletes in one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

The Downhill event generated significant economic benefits for the destination and will soon be broadcast on Disney+, showcasing Puerto Vallarta to a global audience.

In Downhill, Camilo Sánchez of Colombia was crowned champion, followed by Jero Paez of Argentina and Fabián Alcántar of Mexico. In Freestyle, Nicholi Rogatkin of the United States won, with Bienvenido Aguado of Spain taking second place and receiving the award for best trick. Sam Pilgrim of Great Britain finished third. Also noteworthy was the participation of 11-year-old Weston Lukens and athletes Ana Julia Gutiérrez, Chelsea Kimball, and Hannah Bergemann.

Following the event's success, the Municipal Government confirmed that it will return in 2027, further solidifying Puerto Vallarta's position as a host city for high-impact sporting events.
